Pollution prevention (P2) is a vital part of a sustainable society. It is always preferable to reduce the amount of waste produced, instead of treating waste further down the process stream. There are few companies that cannot take simple steps to reduce the amount of raw materials they use and the waste they produce. Pollution preventions services are offered by the Iowa DNR, the EPA, and numerous private companies.
