Description:

The World Water and Climate Atlas is produced in 6 parts. The first part covers data from Asia.

The Atlas is based on climate data from over 50,000 stations worldwide with coverage from 1961 through 1990 includes 10-day, monthly and annual summaries of the following elements:
- average temperature
- mean daily minimum temperature
- total precipitation
- moisture availablity index
- number of days with precipitation
- mean daily maximum temperature
- evaportransportation
- 25, 50, 75 percent probability of precipitation

Some of this data is not on a CDROM but are available on the Internet at http://atlas.usu.edu On the CDROM the data is mapped to grids with resolution of approximately 2.5km. To accomplish this mapping, spatial interpolation techniques incorporating elevation modeling were used.
