Description:A variety of data sets related to Transportation are available from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Several of the these products available at CGRER are listed below:The National Transportation Atlas Data Bases: 1995 and 1996 CD-ROMs contain a compilation of geographic data bases that provide the infrastructure for national planning and policy initiatives for the U.S. Department of Transportation. The databases consist of transportation networks, terminals and other structures, as well as background boundary and point files. The initial release of the NTA contains primarily geographic data with very limited transportation attribute data. The 1996 version (NTAD96) CDROM contains only GIS data. The United States Waterway Data CD-ROM contains a compilation of information related to the navigable waters in the United States including inland, off-shore, Great Lakes and Saint Lawrence Seaway. Data on commerence and accidents are included along with the geographic waterways network. |
