Description:

This CD-ROM is an earth-science database covering a wide range of geologic phenomena in the contiguous United States and was produced by the Joint Education Initiative (JEI), University of Maryland and the American Geological Institute.

A wide range of data is included on the CD-ROM. This includes topographic, gravity, magnetics, seismic, thermal and crustal stress data; Landsat and AVHRR satellite imagery; digitized map data (political boundaries, geologic regions, fault lines, coastlines, rivers, etc.); and place names. The data can be accessed through a menu-driver user interface and many of the datasets can be combined together.

This CD-ROM was designed to work on a PC running DOS, MS-Windows, or OS/2 preferrably on a machine with 8MB RAM, 486DX or higher processor, and Math coprocessor. About 2MB of free disk space on a hard disk is also required.
