Description:The data on this CD-ROM is from NOAA satellite instruments designed for weather applications. The collection includes several data sets: Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometers (AVHRR) land and sea (1/87-12/88); Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSM/I) precipitation and atmospheric moisture (8/87-11/88); TIROS Operational Vertical Sounder (TOVS) coarse layer mean temperature, total cloud fraction, outgoing longwave radiation, ocean temperature, and related data (3/87-12/88).The data on the CD-ROM are accessible from a variety of visualziation application software packages although GeoVu is recommended (Some executable versions of the GeoVu program are on on the CD-ROM). The CD-ROM also includes some experimental movie files can only be run on a PC.
