Description:The U.S. Geological Survey is experimenting with the distribution of its orthophotos (which are a by-product of producing 1:24,000-scale topographic maps) in digital format. An orthophoto is an aerial photograph (usually monochrome) in which parallex distortion has been geometrically corrected. This CD-ROM contains digital orthophoto quadrangle (DOQ) image files for Polk County, Iowa. All images are in JPEG format. The pixel size (spatial resolution) is 1 meter.
