Description:
This CD-ROM contains preliminary assessment data, analysis
and policy input from greenhouse model simulations put
together by the MECCA Analysis Team based at Macquarie University.
It represents the preliminary development of the MECCA
Archive of Daily Data (MADD). The MECCA Analysis Team's primary
tasks are to compare GCM evaluations of the present day and
enhanced greenhouse climates, to assess uncertainty in these
evaluations and to assist impacts modellers and policy advisors
to incorporate these results into their assessment of the impacts
of future climate change.
On this CD-ROM are daily sets of total precipitation and surface
temperature from five Global Climate Models (GCMs) for the last
5 years of their simulations of the present-day climate and of
enhanced greenhouse conditions.
In addition, for the same five years, another six climate
variables (mean sea level pressure, snow depth, evaporation,
sea-ice extent, lowest model level air temperature, total cloud
cover) are archived for one of the participating GCMs used.
Other items on the CD-ROM include information and examples
of the way in which the MECCA Analysis Team plans to fulfil
its goals.
This CD-ROM can only be read and used on a Macintosh computer.
Microsoft Word, HyperCard, and QuickTime software are
required.
