Description:

This large collection of global data sets on CD-ROMS has been issued within the framework of ISLSCP Initiative I. It represents a documented and peer-reviewed collection of data sets for evaluating land-atmosphere models, algorithms, and related experiments.

The CD-ROMS contain data from a variety of sources throughout the world. Volume 1 contains global images for 36 parameters derived from satellite and ground measurements, and one ground-based, point measurement dataset (river flow). These parameters include vegetation, hydrology and soils, snow, ice, and oceans, radiation and clouds. Volume 2-5 contain global images of near-surface meteorological parameters derived from ECMWF and NMC assimilation-forecast models in compressed form. The parameters for this data include different temporal resolutions: monthly 6-hourly, monthly, and fixed.
