Title:1:24,000-scale Digital Elevation Data for Iowa

Description:The USGS Office in Iowa City has initiated a project to digitize the 1:24,000-scale USGS topographic maps and create DEMs. This project has been implemented as a cost-sharing project with local state agencies and organizations (including CGRER) so only a selected number of these maps are completed. Over the next couple of years additional DEMs should become available.Each data file represents one USGS 1:2400-scale topographic quadrangle.
DocumentationThere is no documentation specific to this data. Each data file is in the standard USGS DEM format.
DistributionThere is one (1) DAT tape and one (1) CD-ROM containing this data. The DAT tape contains a tar archive with a selected number of these DEMs (those available as of 7/97) while the CD-ROM (created 9/97) contains a more complete set of DEMs. |
