Description:
These datasets contain a portion of the global dataset
developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Construction Engineering Research
Laboratory (CERL), Environmental Laboratory.
It was originally developed to provide an in-house
capability to evaluate environmental sensitivity
anywhere in the world but is now being distributed
by the Center for Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis
in cooperation with CERL.
There are 3 CDROMS that currently make up the distributed
global dataset and CGRER has volumes 1 and 2.
The data is intended for use with the GRASS geographic
information system although it could be reformatted
for other uses.
The files on the CDROMs are stored in uncompressed, flat
format and can be accessed directly from GRASS.
The format of every data layer is exactly the same.
The spatial resolution of all map layers is 4 minutes,
48 seconds.
