Description:
EarthInfo's
Summary of the Data climate data
CDROMs contain all of the TD3200 data compiled the National
Climatic Data Center.
This includes the full period of record for observations
(though 1997)
at nearly 25,000 cooperating stations in all 50 states on
4 CDROMs (note: CGRER only has 1 of these CDROMs - U.S. Central).
The data includes daily and monthly totals along with
extreme values
for temperature, precipitation (including type of precipitation),
and evaporation (very few stations have this).
Monthly and yearly summaries can also be obtained.
Information about station history, location (latitude/longitude)
and time periods of data collection are available.
This CDROM can only be used on a PC and the menu-driven
data retrieval
program is primarily written for Windows.
The retrieval software can export the data to a variety of
formats such as Lotus, Dbase, and ASCII tabular text.
CGRER only has 1 of the 4 available CDROMs from EarthInfo
and this includes data for the states of Alabama, Arkansas,
Illinois, Indiana, IOWA, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan,
Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, West
Virginia, Wisconsin.
