The symposium was chaired by Gregory Charmichael, co-director of the Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research (CGRER); Edgar Folk, emeritus professor of physiology, and Jerry Schnoor, co-director of CGRER. The International Society of Biometeorlogy and Iowa United Nations Association were co-sponsors of the conference.

The proceedings of this symposium has been published by SPB Academic Publishing (Netherlands) in their Progress in Biometeorology Series. The book is entitled: Preparing for Global Change: A Midwestern Perspective (1995, ISBN 90-5103-102-5). For additional information, contact the CGRER office.
