Jim Malewitz is a journalism intern at the Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research. He produces print and multimedia content and blogs about the environment and the Center's Research. Malewitz graduated from Grinnell College in 2009, where he majored in political science with a concentration in global development studies. While at Grinnell, he wrote for the campus newspaper, Scarlet and Black. He also founded and edited a satire magazine, Writer's Digress, and wrote news and sports pieces for the Grinnell Herald-Register.

In his capacity as a master's professional student at the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Malewitz is conducting research on non-profit journalism and serves as assistant to the editor for the Iowa Center for Public Affairs Journalism.
