General Information

Iowa Weather Forecasting provides weather forecasts for 120 hours for the Midwest US Region (covering 12 states - Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, Indiana and Kentucky). We also present, 120 hour city level forecasts for 37 cities in the 12 states. City level information is available in both figures and tabular form. This system employs Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (RAMS) to analyze NCEP-avn forecasts. This weather forecast system is developed and maintained by Sarath Guttikunda, Jeremie Moen, Brian Elliott and Professor Gregory Carmichael at the Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research, at The University of Iowa, Iowa City

Future plans for this site include more tightly focused local information and some instability indexes for servere weather forecasts.
