CGRER: Computer Lab

Global Positioning System

**New in 2001 Trimble GeoExplorer 3**

Please see Jeremie in room 408 to checkout and/or be trained to use equipment

The Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research has mapping grade global positioning system equipment available for use to all CGRER members. Our equipment consists of a community base station, two hand-held receivers, and a real-time correction beacon receiver, all from Trimble Navigation. Please contact the CGRER office for information on borrowing the GPS equipment.

CGRER's GPS equipment can achieve an accuracy up to the sub-meter level when used with either base station data or the real-time correction receiver. Data collected can be output in many formats, compatible with Arc/Info, ArcView, AutoCAD and other software.
